Stretch Your Dollar with $1

OCBC YES! Can! OMY Blog Challenge asked the wrong right person how to stretch her dollar. I am 出了的名Auntie amongst my friends.

1000 hrs: take a shower. Shampoo ran out. Refill bottle with water and shake vigorously. Voila, there’s shampoo for my hair again This will last another 5 washes.
Savings: $5

1100 hrs: Spent $1.30 on the MRT to get to the city.
1200 hrs: Skipped breakfast. Went to Carrefour for free food samples. I tried sausages, Nutella bread, chocolates, fish fingers, Yakut and Fruit Tree juice.
Savings: $3

1300 hrs: Now I need a drink. Head to Macdonald’s, they usually refill your water bottle for free. I do this overseas too. Mineral bottle overseas can be quite expensive, saves the environment too! Less plastic.
Savings: $2

1500 hrs: Since I’m already in Suntec City, only OCBC YES! Card gives discounts at Eng Wah cinemas. So I watched SALT.
Savings: $4

1700 hrs: Out for the whole day, time to freshen up myself. Walk into any departmental store and spritz myself with my favourite perfume. If the salesgirl approaches, just tell her you need to test out how long lasting the perfume is, so you can’t buy now. On the way out, since am around the skincare counters, I also go around asking for product samples. These sachets are good for travelling.
Savings: $80
1800 hrs: Need to go to a wedding dinner. I want professional make-up done. I go to Sephora at Ion, Orchard. I enquire about the make-up products and lament to the salesgirl I don’t know how to do smokey eyes, so I can’t buy her product. She then tells me she can show me how, so I climb up onto her chair and allow her to experiment expertly on my face. After getting my make-up done, I politely tell her I’m not so sure if the smokey eyes suit me so I will put off buying her products.

Look at that picture! My eyes are just black holes with the said-smokey make-up.
Savings: $60

2000 hrs: Wedding Dinner. Look like a queen even when really pauper. I’m just really good at stretching my dollar.

2300 hrs: Beauty Sleep.

If you're not as good as me in stretching your dollar, i'd suggest either get the OCBC YES! Card that is not only an Ez-link, ATM and Visa card but also offers retail, food and entertainment savings island wide OR join the OCBC YES!
