That Radio Voice

Would you rather be a) photogenic or b) pretty in person?

I can't exactly find you examples but you know what i mean. Either be good looking in person but absolutely fugly in pictures or plain Jane in person, and SuperModel in pictures.

It's a tough choice, but many would rather choose B.

The closest example i could give is Taylor Swift who looks average in videos but very pretty in pictures. It's not an accurate example.

What then happens if you aren't exactly slim, rich nor dashing? How do you attract the opposite sex?!

For girls, you don't have to look like a supermodel but if you've got an interesting personality to boot, good skin and long hair, it wouldn't be too difficult to hoop.

Fortunately for boys, girls are known to be less visual than men. Humour (read: not lame) is important, bravery is appreciated (kill that cockroach for meeee!) and loyalty is needed. But before you get that chance to prove to her you're all these...how do YOU win her heart over?!

SING.

That's always a rude joke that radio DJs never look good, yet you can fall in love with their voice and soon the person over those air waves. I've never been obsessed with any singer, but when i heard these songs/ voices, it evoked many emotions and tingling in my loins. When i finally did open my eyes to see who these melodious voice belong to, i was rather surprised to see they aren't as gorgeous as Aaron Kwok or a Victoria Secrets angel. Quite frankly, even the voices of our Four Heavenly Kings who were very handsome in those days never did make me quite as delirious.

This Korean girl, otherwise known as the Apple Girl on Youtube (who sang acapella with 3 iphones) has launched her singing career. Those strong vocals made me a fan, even though i'm clueless as to what her song meant.

She looked nothing like a sex bomb nor have a face that could launch a thousand ships, but man i could just kiss her right now. Because of THAT VOICE.

Her fame is bound to make that face turn into a desirable one (and soon plastic surgeons will be getting requests to reverse double eyelids to single!)

And if you see this face, would you think about marrying him in an instant?

Unless you're a fan of Droopy the cartoon dog.

Yet he gets a pretty one as his girlfriend!

And Michael Buble may not be Zac Efron,
But oh, how romantic it is for him to starr in this MTV with his girlfriend.


So, my elder brother is 27 and a struggling artist. He has a six pec that is currently hiding under one.

Many say he looks like Jack Neo but it's not such a good association after his pandering ways.

My brother hasn't got the looks of a supermodel, neither the body of a sex god, but he does have a good heart, and he is one helluva funny guy.

However, before any girl gets to know all these qualities in him, he has to nab the girl first. And what does he do? He sings.

My brother is musically talented and he knows how to use it to his benefit in getting girls. First he composes THE song (one generic song for all, but somewhere it has her name (but that can be personalized. It's akin to filling-in-the-blanks), then he strums his guitar (or play the piano), calls the point-of-interest (after all, still abit pai seh to serenade her face-to-face right) and sings to her over the phone. 99% of the time, he gets the girl with this technique, and they're all rather pretty!

So, my brother is a self employed music teacher. He can teach guitar, piano, drums and even singing. If you want to impress or nab a girl or guy, ask him to compose a song and teach you! You can then pass it off as your own. He he he. What she doesn't know, won't harm. Just hope she won't expect a new song every month!

It’s not about that word. It’s about this song, and it has suddenly came out from reading two words from somewhere in the net: true north. The song is entitled Omokage and this was Shaman King’s second ending song. My mind has been filled by anime and anime alone for the second half of my current existence—meaning since I reached the age of 10 or 11. From that period of time, many animes dominated my existence—to the point that it became my defining ‘characteristic’ up to this time.

One of the most popular defining anime was Shaman King, the anime that started my fanfiction.net career (if that’s how we term it). It was that time when I transferred to a new school, and everything was new. Shaman King was aired and became the reason that I rush out of II-OL Rosary’s classroom every afternoon, the reason why I became close friends with Katrina and Loren, and the reason why my desk was filled with vandals of ヨウ beneath the plastic cover and all the rest of fangirlish stuffs I was in to during 2nd year high school.

I liked everything about Shaman King, although now, as I look back, it’s not really an admirable plot to begin with. It is finally plain in my sight now. The greatness about Yoh Asakura has been trampled by Uchiha Sasuke, and now, by several living guys in my age group. But what remained in my memory was this song, this one rendered by Megumi Hayashibara as Kyouyama Anna’s seiyuu:

It wasn’t for the tune that I was hooked in this song, but at the time I was writing Shaman King fanfics, I somewhat associated this song to Kyouyama Anna. If there was one female anime character I could closely relate myself with, it must be her (besides Tsukamoto Tenma).

Since Shaman King wave has long gone and I’ve parted ways with the “addicts” we were before, it might seem easier to forget this. But still, the melody lingers in my head as if it was only now that I’m hearing it for the first time.

My Plurk has this for its title since it’s an FMP layout design. It fits the site most, since it’s all about Sagara and Chidori, also the song is the theme of one of its arcs. This song has also been in my playlist for quite some time already, and I keep on singing along it. Somehow, the lyrics just got into me and I could feel that I could totally relate to it. So here I am, stating its English translation and I will try to analyze what made me feel that way…

Crescendo

I just checked some comment on my Facebook. Len is my primary photo, and I’m proud of it :) Anyone could be his fan. Who couldn’t resist his charm?

Anyway, this post is not about Len, nor La Corda D’oro ~Primo passo~. It’s about the word itself in the title—crescendo. I tried to recall my music lessons, or something that would remind me of its meaning, but I couldn’t relate anything to it but the crescent. So I decided to google it. Lol.

And so I came up with the meaning about peak, climax, and intensity. So there it went, I thought of all other things that I could associate to it. I can’t think of anything but the song! The first lines reverberate in my head.

UP Fair 2009

Back with Windows Live Writer. I can’t believe I would actually have the chance to buy fair tickets at a very low cost. My classmate earlier had told me that her classmate in English 1 is selling two tickets with discounts. Ooh. Around 30 pesos discount? That’s not too bad. Those tickets are for Loverage 3 on February “Friday the 13th”.

LOVERAGE3: Break the Curse, the third installment of the iconic LOVERAGE concert, is a pre-Valentine and Valentine celebration designed to bring together Iskolars ng Bayan and guests in a call to undo and defy superstitious bad luck associated with Friday the 13th through a night of love and love for music with the youth. It also aims to celebrate the varied and distinct musicianship shared and unleashed by our Filipino bands and artists in the realm of original Filipino music. As the night wears on, the organizers envision a Valentines Day welcome countdown, prompting a special fireworks display at exactly 12:00 midnight to delight the spectators. Tickets will be priced at PhP90 each. This curse-breaking event will be held on Friday the 13th of February 2009, at the UP Sunken Garden from 6:00PM onwards. (Gates open at 5:00PM)

Right now, I’m aimlessly installing programs in my PC. I’m also unaware on how much space is left on both my drives. The seeders have long gone, and here I am again with the very low speed of 7.0 kbps.

I’m in need of anime karaoke mp3s. Especially Kaze no machi he of Tsubasa RC. Grr. Can’t create a nice mix of a mono thingy. Whatever. This doesn’t concern me anymore.

Wakatte Ita Hazu

As I turned the shuffle on, most songs that I haven’t listened to for a long time suddenly play and gets my attention. This is one of the songs that was introduced to me by my classmate and close buddy when we were in 3rd year high school. Later on, it was one of my favorites, and even some of my friends loved it as well. This song has such nice lyrics about losing someone you love, and whatever is felt by that broken-hearted one. Thai Invasion

It's not that I've changed my preferences. I only added a bit to it.

If you were one of the people who observed and have visited (of course) my profile, you might have noticed that my location now is Krung Thep, Bangkok, Thailand. My "hometown" is still Tokyo, Japan (in my dreams). This signifies my newest addiction, or what I termed now as the "Thai Invasion".

Several reasons became the impetus for the addition of Thai in my music and hot guys preference. First off is Pchy or Witwisit Hirayanwongkul of the August Band. He is, by far, the hottest guy actor and singer I've seen in Thai sector. Next would be the songs of August Band, starting with Pchy's songs of course. Finally, the beginning of everything, JM's persistence and continuous influence. Haha. I can't get through my hatred of Pchy's debut film (The Love of Siam, where his role is GAY) without him. Thanks, dude!

And because of that, I already had this research mania on Thai culture which includes the following: Music, Language, and Literature.

If this mania is seasonal like my Cantonese Pop addiction, we'll see about that.

Kimi Ga Iru: Who are the guys behind this wonderful J-rock song?!

I'm feeling restless. It's because up to now, I do not have any other information about the band Galla who sung Initial D Second Stage songs "Kimi ga Iru" and "Kiseki no Hana". The guys who sung that, aka the band itself Galla, has no link or whatsoever that I could find and grasp. Too bad, for when I watched the MV of "Kimi ga Iru" (in Initial D, the ending song), I found them cute (especially the lead singer). I resolved into getting mp3s, thanks to the ID collection several years ago... but still, I want to know about the band.

My resolve is that I'll ask some forums and the Yahoo! Answers. If answers will come out, I'm lucky. If not, I won't stop researching!

My inspiration in doing so is my recent ClubBox discovery of "Freedom!" mp3.

With hard work and enthusiasm, I could find out almost everything!

Surprise, Surprise!

A lot of things occurred today, most which I do not expect once more.

First, I downloaded the song I longed to have since I was in Elementary. That is the song "Freedom!" by Han Gwan-Hee. This song is the Ending song for Restol: Special Rescue Squad, a Korean anime way back in 1999. It was aired around 2000 at ABC-5 (now TV 5) and I loved this song from the first time I heard it. When I had the chance, I'll occasionally search for its lyrics or the mp3 itself. Tough luck. For 4 years of searching, I only ended up with an instrumental--something that I got from a fansite as a temporary file. I thought it was the end back then-- I was 3rd year high school that time.

And finally, this time I used all I can with different parameters and unyeilding hope to finally have that song. So I found a ClubBox link, and then I hesitated at first. I failed signing-up for ClubBox 5 years ago. But through the help of a certain website, I followed the instruction and got my own account. And so, I downloaded not only "Freedom!" but also "Restol"-- the opening song. I'm so glad it happened!

And to celebrate it, I gladly post the mp3 of "Freedom" in my blog: (just the imeem link, I can't incorporate media here... I wonder why uploads in Fs are slow... bandwidth? no. of users?!)

Harima Kenji Inspires! But Also Discourages?

That's right. He's the anime guy of the hour. Oh, not only for an hour, but he dominated my ever-intriguing status message at Yahoo! Messenger (I wonder why it catches a lot of people in my list's attention everytime I change it).

These "quotable quotes" came directly from Harima on the 1st episode of the OVA School Rumble: Sangakki. I don't know why he makes me laugh all the time, especially the unforgettable, now "Song of the Month", song he sang in the 10th episode of Season 1: (refer to earlier post) Kimi e~Kaze ni Nosete~. The way he sang it plus the music video (okay, the video or scene while he sings it) makes the whole thing funny for me. And the lyrics, my! It touched my laughstrings (is there such a word? :P).

If only I could have a living Harima Kenji... that person would be the world's most awesome delinquent.

Kudos to you, Harima! Your words of dejection and sheer admittance of failure inspired me! (And I owe you laughs!)
