Mommy's First Day Off + Posh Nails Sparty/Bridal Shower

So today, after 2 weeks of totally staying at home (oops, I went out with hubby yesterday for a Pizza date for 2 hours only) I got a day off today for about 5 hours. And yes, I was able to test my pump's mobility by pumping and storing it in my cooler bag. It's so great. The Medela Freestyle really lives up to its standard.

My younger sister-in-law (SIL) is getting married on Monday and my eldest sister-in-law decided to throw a surprise party for her-- together with the groom. We went to Posh Nails McKinley Hill and everything was prepared for a "Sparty". They rented the whole place for 3 hours today. We had lots of exciting activities in store with my SIL's best friends participation, too.

The theme is Blue and Yellow (their wedding's motif) and the place is cozy and nice. The surprise party did not turn out to be as surprising to the bride anymore. She saw our car on the parking lot, but what surprised her is her besties appearance.

I had what they call Posh Spoiling: (from Posh Nails Services website). We can avail any service up to 600++ Pesos.

For people who have a little more time to treat their hands and feet to a little piece of heaven.

Welcome Our Baby Robert!

Hello, hello! It's been a week since I gave birth. I wanted to share in my blog how happy and how difficult it was to give birth... the second time around! :)

I gave birth last May 22 at 11:21 AM via NSD (normal spontaneous delivery). Everything happened just like 3 years ago (2010) when I gave birth to our firstborn Jethro. It was the same Wednesday night, and water leaked around the same time -- 1 AM. But this time, I was able to be calm and cool about it. I even put on my lipstick and some mascara :)) The same thing happened, we arrived at The Medical City 10 minutes after (there is no heavy traffic in Ortigas Ave. at midnight, luckily it happened around the same time like before). Before that, my mom and hubby were even able to order some food at Jollibee Drive Thru. So upon arriving at the hospital, I was able to still walk to the prelabor room as my only concern was amniotic fluid (AF) leak. Anyways, as soon as I got there, I was able to FB post to my mommy GT friends what's happening to me at that moment. The litmus test was done to check if it was indeed my AF, and it was. My contractions were irregular so they opted to do an "augmentation" (or induction of labor) so that my labor would progress further. And after a few minutes, I was wheeled to the labor room.

The labor room doc did not proceed in giving me the oxytocin (hormone) in my IV yet as they noticed I was starting to have regular moderate contractions. I remained like that for about 6 hours, they kept on monitoring my cervix in terms of the measurement in centimeters by doing the internal examination (IE). Initially when I got to the prelabor room, I'm still 2cm and 60% effaced, after a few hours I got to 3cm and 70% effaced, forward to 7AM, I'm around 4cm and 80% effaced. They called my anesthesiologist as I was really feeling the labor pains. My epidural was put on around 8:30AM, and we have to wait until 10AM that my OB came, had my next IE and shocking as it was, it progressed to 8cm and 90% effaced. Baby was almost there! My pains are worsening even though they added more anesthesia because of the baby's head almost popping out of me. A few minutes later, my OB pronounced that I'm ready to give birth. 10cm, fully dilated cervix. I was wheeled to the delivery room ASAP.

My delivery room experience wasn't as fun as my last time, I was in so much pain and then suddenly the anesthesia worked little by little. I can't feel a thing anymore, though there's little contraction pain that I feel. Whenever it happens, my doctors would tell me to "push", coaching me every 10-second count. 4 other contractions came and I pushed while my anesthesiologist finally helped me in pushing my baby... and at 11:21 AM, Robert came to this world at 6 pounds 7 ounces, measuring 49 centimeters. We did the "Unang Yakap" and latching so we could breastfeed as early as a few hours after labor. After that, they attached the Hugs and Kisses thing that would alarm every time my baby is near me or away from me. It's something new from The Medical City, to enable the mom and baby bonding and also to prevent baby thefts.

The next stop was the recovery room. I was the only one there as the two other women in the labor room with me still haven't progressed with their labor. Afterwards, my baby came in, they had to keep us latching together as it is beneficial for breastfeeding, again. Then they moved me to another recovery room as we booked the superior room for our stay. My husband was allowed to come in, wearing a scrub suit and hairnet so as to keep sterility. He stayed with me and our baby for about an hour until we are both ready to go to our room. My son Jethro and my mom were both anxiously waiting for Robert's arrival. It was such a happy day for all of us. :)

After staying in the hospital for 2 and a half days, we were finally discharged. I was really feeling better on day 3. And yes, up to now I'm still exclusively breastfeeding my 9-day old son :D

My BDO and RCBC Secured Credit Card Experience

April is finally here and I'm finally getting my next secured credit card. I was hoping  I could get a BDO Secured CC because I love their current promo. So even my salary hasn't arrived yet, I just got instant funds from my savings on my Metrobank ET account. Initially, I planned to put my money on BDO for the amount of 12,500 and I'll be getting a 10,000 CL (credit limit). I called Robinsons Galleria branch and they were the only branch near me who could understand what a secured credit card is. So I was confident they would assist me well and on April 4, me and my family went to the said mall and the BDO branch to open my TD account with them.

It was an epic fail. The first bank person who attended to me didn't know about it. I have to explain it to her and tell her it's different from a loan. Another woman came and apparently she knew about it, but she told me it is still subject to approval. I was taken aback. Approval? Isn't this system supposedly instant approval because it's secured? So after looking at the requirements (which I didn't have one of the things in their list--a photo), I decided it WILL NEVER be BDO. It's just weird. I don't like their system, too strict!

So me and my husband were thinking of going back to BPI. Last month, I decided to cut my BPI Blue Mastercard after 2 years because they denied my application for retention the second time around. I was thinking of doing it, but I remembered the RCBC Instacard Program (in that blog, I was inspired). So I googled the different RCBC branches around Ortigas area. The thing is, when we arrived to the nearest branch along ADB Ave. (coming from Robinsons Galleria), it's almost 3PM! Their banking hours are from 9AM-3PM. So I just looked for another branch to apply near my house-- I saw the Frontera Verde branch. I called them up to make sure the branch knows about Instacard. I had a positive feedback from the person who got my call.

April 5, next morning before heading to my checkup at TMC, we headed to the branch. It is in Transcom building beside Fun Ranch. It looks nice, but when I went there, only one person could assist me in opening a new account. They were nice though, but when she mentioned I might wait for an hour, I almost wavered and want to go back home. But my husband had a great idea of them going first and then just go back to me for my checkup (which we initially planned to be in the afternoon). I diligently filled out their forms, and waited for a while until the couple who also opened a checking account left. That was the time I was assisted properly.

She was nice and we even chatted about my online job. But it also took an hour before she could finally open the account, realize her mistake in my account opening and print the Time Deposit certificate and let me fill out another form for the card application. I liked that they also let me use their washroom :P. Anyway the point is, I was confused with their process. She did not give me the original TD certificate, and she did not have a deposit slip for my TD-- instead, she just gave me an OR (official receipt). But she promised me the card will arrive on Monday (April 15) due to the 7 working days rule. She also told me she will send my documents tomorrow, so I have to wait for a week.

Even with the confusing process, she had an assurance and she also gave me her number to follow up perhaps, or if I had some problem regarding my application. I would surely call her back if on the 15th I still would not receive my RCBC Bankard. I wonder what kind of credit card they will issue because I wasn't able to choose in the form (there was no checkbox!). And also, they have a 100% CL against the TD amount so I saved 2,500 pesos from the initial money I plan to put on BDO (or BPI).

As of now, I'm still anxious and worried on how the outcome of my application will be. I realized we cannot live with one credit card alone, because I have my personal expenses too. My husband was really supportive on this, (I really love him! :D) so I have some courage and faith to open this new account. Oh well, let's just wait and see what will happen next. I still have a week to wait! Good luck to me and fingers crossed. XD

Something Stupid

I only started feeling alive when I received the "Adik Pak" from someone (yup, this one's obviously taken from Mafia Wars--the Energy Pak). And now, my "addiction" was multiplied or rather increased by 25% as of this moment. So I guess I'll still be up for another good 45 minutes, texting and chatting or answering random quizzes again and again.

The last time I hadn't had the mood to sleep was the time I had the chance to use Globe's Unyt feature with JM. He called me four times since we had laggy times and the accidental end call cases, my fault. I was awake til 4 in the morning, only to find myself answering 17 quizzes simultaneously. Ian commented that I was so much of an insomniac to do that at the very moment. Oh well, I told her I was so bored to death that my mind has to move.

Oh, the other "graver" moment was the supposedly no sleep for 23 hours thingy before UPD enrollment because I was too busy chatting with my PCA barkada. Time passed and then I was upset about something that time, so I decided not to sleep. In the end, I was persuaded so I slept for a good 49 minutes before waking up at 6:10 only to take a bath immediately and go to Diliman for Summer Enlistment.

Now, it's just 12:45, and the day is young-- so I don't have to sleep yet. Unfortunately, I NEED sleep since I haven't got any single day of complete rest starting from the Papers haggard week of March (2nd to the last week). To top it all, Finals week followed, and also the Gala streak, so Marathons was just right within it. I had only 4 hours (longest) sleep, and 49 minutes (shortest).

Who is to blame this time?

Not YM, but definitely FACEBOOK. :)

Wasurenai yo

So there. Another day has come. Ah, boring start.

Anyway, I woke up 1 PM today and what surprised me was an invite from that person I promised to forget. The other day, I was just telling someone not to say something to remind me of that person. And so my post will tell the details on how this person came to me again lately...

It started while I was viewing some of my friends in FS's profiles. As I scrolled down on a certain person's comments, I saw that person's comment on this certain person's profile [getting confused? Okay. "certain person" and "that person" are two different guys ]. I could see that they still get to talk with each other. And that instance reminded me and flooded me with thoughts of that person. I shuddered.

That person is someone I wanted to forget. Why all of a sudden, these memories flooded by?

The night was over, and today came. I opened YM as soon as I woke up. I left the PC. Then after returning in an hour, there was this add to messenger list request.

I felt ecstatic (not that quite) and then...


I don't know how to react on this properly.

    Okaaaay.... I am so happy because of the following:

1. I shifted (at LAST!) and got into what I wanted.
   
2. My friends Emma and Sam also got into the same college, meaning WE'LL all be TOGETHER!!
   
3. I was able to enlist a PE and 2 required subjects plus one MST!

I like this song! It's just sad that I haven't finished Bokura ga Ita. I'm bummed. I want to do a lot of things that I could actually do, but I have no interest this time. I just want to stay calm and relaxed like this.

I just bought a マリオ sticker (name sticker) at Megamall last time Kog, Edrick and I went out. I's so much worthwhile. I was glad I bought one and sticked it on my TV. Haha.

Although I don't get to see him, I still watch Witch Yoo Hee wherein he looks like Jae Hee--the Korean actor playing the role of Marlon (Filipino dubbed name, yeah I know...) on the show. So then I wasn't lonely at all. Besides, a lot of people keep me company lately.

I just hope HAZEL-PC gets fixed and I could have some things from my own money (which hasn't been touched since 2007 October). Gah!

Whatever happens, he's still here... in my 心. Yeah!

P.S.: Chinito wasn't around earlier. Good thing エイドリアン was there. :P
